Identifying the Destination

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." - Lau Tzu

Invest, invest, invest...it seems that we hear this around every corner.  At Inheritance Builders we obviously believe this is great advice, but one must also determine the purpose of their investment. It is very common for a potential client to contact us and tell us that they want to invest, because they know they should, but they don't really know why.

Simply identifying your destination is the first step toward redefining your future.

Questions designed to help you identify your destination...
  • What is the purpose of this investment?
  • When will this capital be needed?
  • Will it be needed in a lump sum or a little over a long time?
  • How much risk am I willing to take?
  • Do I understand the relationships between risk, reward and time?
  • How will I define when I've made it?
  • Are there special circumstances that may cause the destination to change?
  • Is this investment consistent with my values?
  • Is this investment consistent with my overall vision?
  • What are the tax implications of this decision?
We will help you find an investment consistent with your answers to these questions and assist you in keeping these purposes in focus.

"Establishing and defining specific objectives is paramount in the implementation of a financial plan." -Jeremy Becker

Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Prov. 16:3

The mind of a man plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Prov. 16:9

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Eph. 5:15-17
